Riley Jenson is a Guardian and is the one who usually comes face to face with the worst villains. So it doesn't surprise her in the slightest when she comes up against a sorceress who can raise the dead. On the other side of things Riley is also helping solve a series of brutal slayings in the vampire community. Mixed in with the heat of the upcoming full moon her werewolf hormones are running wild and she finds it hard to keep them under control when she comes across Kye Murphy.

Riley threatens the bounty hunter with arrest if she finds him messing with her cases again but the rogue wolf doesn't seem to care. Her wolf side is curious about Kye while her vampire side is totally hot for Quinn. Could it be possible for her to have two souls? A friend mentioned it but she didn't take it seriously until now.

This seventh book in the Riley Jenson series wasn't as hot as the previous books. Things were steamy but not as wild. Now that Riley is with Quinn it seems she is trying to stick with one guy. However on saying that the book left things a little open in that respect. I wonder what will happen between Riley and Kye in the future.

Another great mystery in the paranormal world this series has been on my must read list since it all started with Full Moon Rising. I have followed Riley this far and I am not giving up on her. She is an amazing character, strong and self aware. I enjoy reading about her and hope that the time between now and book number eight passing quickly.

Marla's past has come back to haunt her in the shape of her brother Jason. As Felport's chief sorcerer, Marla would usually want to get rid of such a con artist but blood is thicker than water and she decides to see what he really wants before tossing him out of her city. It soon becomes clear that Jason is up to no good. He has a scam going and has already used Marla's name to get his foot in the door. However Marla sees no harm in him having his fun with the filthy rich wannabe mage that Jason has targeted and even lets Rondeau, her business partner, join in on the fun.

Although some people have got wind of the scam and don't realise it is a scam. Things start to become dangerous and nobody can really see what is about to happen. Even Marla's new apprentice is getting mixed signals about the whole thing. Death, destruction and deception are all against Marla and as usual it is up to her to save everyone and put everything back in its place.

Book four in the Marla Mason series showed a different side to my favourite sorcerer. Having family pay a visit, and after such a long time, plays on Marla's usually good instincts and pulls her to make decisions she most likely wouldn't have made. This book was not only made interesting due to the appearance of Marla's long lost brother and the story behind it but also the arrival of Marla's apprentice.

A big huge mushroom as one of the main baddies makes for tasty reading but this series is just delicious anyway. There is nothing else out there remotely similar to this series but Marla is a female Harry Dresden (Jim Butcher) mixed with a bit of John Taylor (Simon R. Green).

So when is book five out? I don't know but you can be sure that I will be pre-ordering it asap. I love this series and wouldn't mind swapping places with Marla and seeing some of the action she sees. Paranormal, fast-paced and fun this is a must read series.

It is Spring break and Maggie Quinn and her friend Lisa are looking forward to some time on the beach. No demons, spells or anything paranormal in sight, the girls are having a well deserved rest. However while driving through Texas they run over a dead cow and the gas tank needs to be replaced. Stuck in the small town of Dulcina wasn't really how the girls wanted to spend their days off but then again evil doesn't go on holiday.

Which is something Maggie realises pretty quickly when the locals start talking about how many cattle deaths they have had since the drought started. Sure dead cattle isn't unusual when there is a lack of water but these animals haven't been dying from dehydration.

Everyone has a theory about the killings but nobody has been able to prove anything so far. So when Maggie and Lisa start to cure the boredom of a small town by getting involved they find themselves in a lot deeper than they expected. Evil mosquito like bugs, strange spells and attacks on the population means that the thing attacking the cattle is getting bolder. Will Maggie and her friends be able to stop whatever is terrorising the town of Dulcina?

This is the third book in the Maggie Quinn : Girl vs. Evil series and I loved it. With the unusual evil theme and the detective skills of Maggie this was really an enjoyable read. I have been re-watching Veronica Mars and there are so many similarities between the two girls. Maggie is just like the sassy young TV detective but there is one difference. Maggie has a built in 'freakometer'.

Maggie is just at the beginning of a Buffy style life and I am definitely going to carry on following her progress. There was no announcement in the back of this book but hopefully book four will be coming out soon. I see a bright future for this young adult series.

Decker Argenau could do with a holiday but those ideas are cut short when he is asked to help hunt a group of rogue vampires. The rogues are preying on mortals and just kidnapped 2 women, sisters, and another Rogue, a long lost family member is also somehow tied up in the case.

Dani is the oldest sister and is a doctor. Saved from her kidnappers by a strange man she isn't sure who to trust. What she does know is that she needs to help get her sister back and under the current circumstances she decides to stay with the men who seem dangerous but capable of tracking down her sibling. With no choice but to go along with the men who talk about strange liquid diets and mind reading she hopes that she hasn't made the wrong decision.

The suddenly Decker is talking about them being life-mates and Dani starts to dream the most erotic dreams she has ever had about the strange man. Feeling a passion she has never known before Dani starts to process the fact that these men are indeed immortals and that her sister is being help captive by a rogue immortal.

Together Dani and Decker hope to find Dani's sister. With the help of the Argenau family and resources they will hopefully get to her in time. Until then they have some time to spare and they use it getting to know each other in every way possible.

So it is time for another Argeneau installment and we all know how it goes already. Immortal meets life-mate, life-mate freaks out a little, immortal and life-mate get it on and everyone lives happily ever after? Did I miss something? Of course! I missed out the fabulous story that lies in between this re-occurring concept.

Lynsay Sands may keep to the same idea but every book in this series is always totally different from the next. How she manages to do it I am not sure but she does it well and I devour and enjoy each of her books. This newest release is just as good as the previous Argeneau stories and I can't wait to see what happens next and to who.

Haven't read this series yet? Then catch up! Already a fan? Get this new edition as soon as possible! You won't be disappointed!

Werewolves are showing up dead in Noturne City and not just any werewolves but ones from the oldest packs in the city. Luna Wilder is asked by a colleague to help out on the case even though she isn't a detective anymore. Stuck in the SWAT team is just where her bosses want her so they won't be too happy to find her working on any case. Another person not happy with Luna's involvement in the case is her boyfriend Dmitri. However Luna is the right person for the job even if it means she could be the next victim.

Luna tracks down the killings to a band of Wendigos who drink the blood of their victims for strength. Only believed to exist in legends, the Wendigos are the real deal and Luna finds herself seeking out some of the more friendly ones to ask for their help. So with all the help she can get Luna is off trying to find an invisible were-killer while fighting off everything the wendigo can throw at her.

I have really been enjoying the Nocturne series and was eagerly awaiting this third book. Full of action this is a hard read to put down. Read too fast and you might miss something. Take a break and you may loose the plot or forget some important information. Nothing is boring about this latest read but I have to say that I didn't think it was better than the first two books.

Luna is a some what stubborn and tough character but in this book she left me frustrated. Chasing a killer with werewolves, wendigos and other things that go bump in the night is never going to be easy but to see the main character get hurt so much was sad. Also her boyfriend Dmitri is not my favourite 'bad guy boyfriend' so their relationship problems seemed like a waste of paper for me.

Even though this wasn't my favourite of the series so far this series is still on my must read list. The ending of this book had an interesting new development that will have Luna busy for, hopefully, a few more books. Great plot, well written and paranormal at its best. Not to missed if you are following the series.

M.J. Holliday can communicate with the dead and has been using her gift to do a bit of ghost busting. Unfortunately there isn't as much ghost busting work out there as she thought there would be but her best friend and business partner Gil is about to take care of that for her.

When Gil gets approached by a TV company asking if M.J. would be interested in taking part in a new show called Haunted Possessions, he tricks her into signing up for the gig. As soon as M.J., Gil and her boyfriend Steven arrive at the hotel where the filming is to take place, things start to go very wrong.

With the help of fellow psychic, Heath, M.J. starts to track down and send on all the ghosts that haunt the hotel. She also gets mixed up in a murder investigation and then there is the small problem of a demon on the loose. With so many spooks on the premises and one evil spirit actually able to cut and possess people, this really is going to be a trip that M.J. will never forget.

Three books into the Ghost Hunter mystery series and I am hooked. Possession being one of the themes in this book seemed ironic, seeing as I felt possessed by the book. I just had to keep reading till the end and hated having to put down this action filled read. Spooky, creepy and chilling this cozy paranormal mystery was the best yet out of the series and I hope that the wait for book number four will not be a long one.

I have enjoyed this author's Psychic Eye series but I absolutely love this ghost busting delight. Worth checking out and definitely not one to read in the dark or if you are home alone. Do you really believe things that go bump in the night? This series really has a knack for making it all seem real whether you believe in it all or not.

Zoey and her friends are on the run. Hidden in Tulsa's prohibition tunnels they start to plan what they will do next. Going back to the House of the Night doesn't seem like a good idea but staying in the tunnels won't help their situation either. The new Red fledglings have made the tunnels very homely and they are all willing to help Zoey and her gang. However Zoey senses that there is something they aren't telling her but she has other problems she needs to take care of.

Kolona has taken over The House of the Night and with the help of Neferet and his Raven Mockers the place is locked up tight. The gang are not ready to go back to the school but when Zoey gets hurt they have no choice but to walk back into the school they used to call home so that she will survive.

If fighting evil and saving the world wasn't enough to handle, the young priestess Zoey also has guy problems. Erik wants to get back together with her, Heath is hanging around and Stark could be evil but Zoey likes him alot. However that is nothing compared to the gorgeous Kolona. He maybe a nasty piece of worth but he is hot and wants Zoey for himself.

This fifth book in the series picks up the story where the reader was left hanging in 'Untamed'. After a few chapters of catch-up things settle down into another House of the Night story filled with action, suspense and vampyres. Feelings run high all the way through as the plot unfolds and it becomes clear that Zoey and the gang are not to worried about getting good grades this school year.

Another enjoyable and addictive addition to the series my only worry is that I knew what Zoey had to do before she did it. Are the boyfriends taking up too much of her thinking time? Maybe she should give up on the guys altogether until everything is back to normal. After all she is only seventeen and could do with the break!

Definitely one of the best young adult paranormal series on the market this is one series that my friends ask to borrow and one I keep in my permanent collection. Unique, special and not so over the top, reading an installment of the House of Night series is like catching up with old friends.

I look forward to book six and highly recommend anyone who hasn't tried this series to give it a go. It maybe young adult based but there is something in there for everyone.

Felix Gomez has seen alot of weird and wonderful things since he joined the ranks of the undead. As a vampire Private Investigator he has come across nymphomaniacs, aliens and much much more. So to keep things interesting he is now up against something undead and it isn't a fellow vampire.

An army of hungry zombies have made their presence known and Felix finds himself teaming up with a teenage girl with clairvoyant powers to put them out of business. However her help comes with a price. One that Felix can pay, no loans needed. Will Felix really pay her and turn the youngest into a vampire so she won't die an early death?

The fourth book in the Felix Gomez series was as entertaining as the previous three. The author has style where it comes to plot and a gift when it comes to putting it down on paper. Fun, fast-paced and perfectly paranormal urban fantasy this is an excellent series for the guys out there who need a little piece of the genre. And for the girls? Pure reading enjoyment from a male vampire perspective.

I can't wait for the next book in this series and anything else the author brings out on the shelves. This is different, clever and totally romance free. My kind of good read after so many girl meets vamp books. Thanks Mario for the change of pace and the new angle.

Check out the cool Lego filled book trailer for this book!

The devil has basically moved in next door to Nicki Styx and she knows that no good can come of it. He would love her to leave her boyfriend, Doctor Joe Bascombe, but she isn't going to give him up and dance with the devil. So he sets out to make Nicki's life hell and he has an interesting way of going about it.

Nicki has just gotten used to being able to communicate with the dead. Seeing, hearing and being able to help spirits isn't easy but the devil has sent a spirit her way that can even possess her. Joe's job is in trouble, Evan's relationship is on the rocks and Nicki is trying to stay sane, solve her spirit problems, help her friends and also not turn evil.

This third book in the Nicki Styx series could be the best yet. With more depth and expansion on Nicki's story and the devil having a main role there is nothing boring about this book. Action, mayhem and magic all the way this ghostly series is one of my favourites to read and I can't wait for book number four and anymore that come out. The author has a great writing style that is filled with fun, mystery and ghouls.

In the Spring of 1628 the Witchfinder of Wessex finds himself a witch to hang. As Bess Hawksmith watches her mother die on the hanging tree she knows she must honour her mothers wishes and go to the only man who can save her from the same fate. She has never liked Gideon Masters but he is now the only person left who can protect her and teach her about the Craft.

What Bess never realised is that she would end up running from Gideon for over three hundred years. Determined to get payment for teaching her what she knows and saving her life, Gideon hunts her and sometimes even finds her. Will she ever find a place where she will be safe? Can she keep the Craft alive for herself and use it to help others?

It is 2007 and Bess is finally feeling safe. Maybe the danger has passed and she can earn her modest living in peace for once. Bess even befriends a girl called Teagan in the village and starts to teach her the Craft but she suddenly feels she has let down her guard and knows she still has to confront Gideon at least one more time.

I came across this book totally by chance last week while visiting my family in the UK. I was in Borders and they announced a local author was in the store signing copies of her book about witches. Of course my ears perked up and I went in search of the book and author. Reading the back of the book I did have my doubts. I am not one for historicals but I still wanted to read the book and see what this fellow Welsh woman had written.

First I have to say that I absolutely loved the book. Before I go into details I have to also say that I doubt I would have ever come across this book if I hadn't of been in Borders that day and hope that my review will spread the word about this amazing story of a witch who has lived through so much and has so much to share.

The book starts in the present day and then moves on to 1628 and tells of the plague and Witchfinder. Then we have another look into the present only to be transported back in time again to the times of Jack the Ripper. Another look in the present results in another trip back in time but this time to Flanders field in the height of the war. Finally the reader is back in the present to hear the last few entries in the Elizabeth Anne Hawksmith's Book of Shadows. This sounds a little confusing but it was the perfect layout for this story.

The history in the book was well written with detailed and in depth descriptions of what Bess was experiencing. This extra effort made me feel like I was there with Bess and also made the historical part of this book extremely interesting. With such a wonderful lead character, a fascinating plot and such a descriptive writing style this had me hooked and I couldn't put it down.

Book of Shadows is obviously aimed at adult readers but I think young adult readers would also appreciate this. I will be recommending this book to alot of people I know and I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next. Of course I would like to see a sequel to this story sometime or even meet up with Teagan again but in some ways I think the book is great how it ended.

In conclusion - buy this book. Definitely better than Cate Tiernan's witch books and an extremely impressive debut. If you can find a copy get it and enjoy it!

Kick-ass witch and bounty hunter, Rachel Morgan, has been knocked down enough times that it doesn't even hurt any more. She has broken the rules to help others and now she has a bad reputation that she can't seem to improve. However none of this bothers Rachel because her lover was killed and that pain is just too much for her. Until she finds out who murdered him and she not until she has had her revenge, nothing else is important.

There is however a very big problem. Rachel can't remember much about the night of the murder. With a new nasty in town, memories start surfacing more and more and it isn't long before Rachel in on the right path to the killer. With the help of her friends, family and even her enemies, Rachel will hopefully see it through the New Year and finally find out who killed the man she loved.

The seventh book in the Rachel Morgan series has been on my pre-order list since it appeared on Amazon. This is the series that started off my Paranormal reading obsession and I have enjoyed every single book, until now. Ok maybe that sounds harsh and I maybe going over the top by saying I didn't enjoy this. However if I look at the previous books in the series, this one didn't feel the same, didn't grab me as much and there were times where I actually thought about not finishing the book.

Was it really that bad? No it wasn't. There was all the main characters I love, although some were not around as much as I would have liked. Rachel was as witchy as always and Ivy was as scary and sexy as ever. Jenks was funny all the way through and the gargoyle from the previous book made more of an appearance this time. The plot was good and there were the usually twists and turns throughout the book that kept me on my toes. However there was still something different and the only thing I can think of, that could have made me feel this way, is the depressive and gloomy way Rachel was acting alot of the time.

I know her lover died and she has been getting more than her fair share of problems to deal with but it wasn't until the last page, the very last few paragraphs, that I really wanted more. Paranormal Urban Fantasy is supposed to be doom and darkness alot of the time but it is real downer for the reader if the main character is so down.

All in all I have to say that I don't regret reading this. This is one of the best series out there in the Paranormal genre and is a must read for anyone who loves witches, vamps and other things that go bump in the night. However I, personally, was a little disappointed in this one and have enjoyed some other books alot more than this one so far this year.

It will be interesting for me to see what others think of the book once they have read it. After all there will always be a good and a bad book in a series and maybe this, even it is just my opinion, could be the bad one?

Aurora Teagarden has never forgotten the first murder case she got involved in. The serial killer terrorized Lawrencetown and she was right in the middle of things. Now the story is about to hit the small screen and a film crew and everything that comes with it is in town to shoot scenes from Roe's life.

Roe isn't pleased about the whole circus but can't help getting involved. Her ex, Robin, wrote the book that was made into the screenplay and her stepson has a role in the production. Also an Emmy award winning actress is playing the part of Roe and wants to get to know her. So of course Roe obliges and then things start to get complicated.

The famous actress is found dead and Roe is threatened. Roe starts to have feelings for Robin again but isn't sure if she really wants to give up her widow status as well as her house. There is never a dull moment in Roe's life and if there is a body to be found you can be sure she is close by. Hopefully this time she won't be the body being found.

Last Scene Alive is a brilliant as the previous books in the series and as always kept me guessing till the end. Roe was different in this book and rightly so after everything she has been through. However this time I found her more likable and not as boring. It was also great to see how the other people in town are getting on and to revisit some of the past. The last few books centered around Roe's new life and it was nice to go back to the good old days.

This book, if I remember rightly, is the last but one in the series that is being re-released and I am now keen to see how the author finishes the series off. Charlaine Harris is an amazing author and even though this series is not in the least paranormal, written before her vampire series raise to fame, it is still worth reading if you like the author.

Everyone says that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas but that isn't the case for Kitty and Ben. When they get back from their visit to Vegas to their wolf pack in Denver things start to heat up, literally. Whatever is causing the heat has focused itself on Kitty's pack and she feels responsible for extinguishing the threat as quickly as possible.

With the help of Rick, the master vampire of Denver, and also the paranormal investigators from a TV series, Kitty starts to put the pieces together. However things are getting hot and a death of a pack member as well as fires all over the city, Kitty realises she doesn't have time to investigate. She has to stop things before someone else gets hurt because she can't predict what is going to happen next.

I love this series and it is a must buy for me. So having two new books in the series within a month is like Birthday, Easter and Christmas came at once. This is the most entertaining werewolf series out there and Kitty is the most amazing lead werewolf out there. Each book just keeps getting better and better and I can't believe that the next one will not be out till next year! Such a long wait after such an amazing double packed release!

Something that stood out for me in this newest edition is the new characters. I really hope the crew of Paradox PI (think Ghost Hunters or Most Haunted) will become regulars, if only in the background and Kitty's magician friend from Vegas should also be there in the future to give her a helping hand. Also something else that stood out is the continuing storyline that started in Vegas. It seems things are not over where that is concerned and I am interested to see what will happen next.

If you haven't already read this series then you should be ashamed of yourself ;) Anyone who loves Kitty shouldn't wait to buy this latest edition because it is hot and totally satisfying.

Clayton was a normal curious six-year-old who asked to be bitten. Living as a lone werewolf child wasn't easy but then Jeremy Danvers comes and saves him. Of course Clayton doesn't see it that way at the beginning but over the years Jeremy becomes his father as well as his pack leader and he will protect him no matter what.

This is the book that fills in the gaps, that makes what you already read about the women look boring. Men of the Otherworld starts with the story of how Jeremy came into the world, shows how he takes in Clay, becomes pack leader and then brings us back to the present where a new part of his life is starting. After knowing him for so long finally getting to know Jeremy better was a wonderful experience.

However not only does this book give an insight into the pack leader but also into Clayton. Clay the wild wolf full of mystery and so very different to every other wolf in the series. Getting to know more about him was a treat and very eye opening. Smart and strong it was interesting to see how much he has changed over the years before the Women of the Otherworld showed up in his life.

Having read this book I now feel I know the series alot better. The Women of the Otherworld is one of my favourite, must buy series but it always lacked the male side of the story. So many secrets and unspoken stories that left gaps have now been filled and I loved every minute of it. I know these stories were on Kelly's website at various points but I always prefer a book and waited. It was worth the wait and I am looking forward to the future stories from the men as well as the women.

Not to be missed this is a must read for all fans and even a good way to start off the series of the Women of the Otherworld if you haven't already had the pleasure of reading it.

Once a powerful Djinn, Cassiel defied her ruler, Ashan, who in return took her very essence away and sent her down to Earth in human flesh. As punishments go this is the worst and Cassiel finds herself forced to live among the mortals she has always despised. Luckily she has found refuge with the Weather Wardens which works out good for her because she needs their power or she will die.

Earning her keep assiting a Weather Warden called Manny Rocha is much easier than she thought it would be. With her human emotions to cope with and the way of human life, Cassiel finds herself pleased to be around him and his family. Then bad things start happening and Cassiel finds herself fighting against her old Djinn ways and a force that she thought she killed a long time ago.

This new series from Rachel Caine makes an amazing deubt in Undone. If you love the Weather Warden series and wondered about the Djinn then this is a treat. From a new perspective this series takes place in the Weather Warden world and actually runs alongside it. Familiar characters as well as new names make this a great mixture of new and old.

Full of emotions, twists and action this is fast paced, satisfying and will have you on the edge of your seat all the way. I think I may even like this more than the Weather Warden series itself but will hold out on my decision until more of the series has been released. Another Rachel Caine must buy to add to my list!

Cractus is the son of Warcraft and Hate and spent eternity battling for the ancient gods who birthed him. He was feared by all until the day he couldn't carry out the orders Zeus had gave him. Sent into exile by his family and friends and using the name Jericho he keeps to himself and tries to stay sane. However his life, however pitiful it is, is about to change as an ancient enemy is been let loose and Jericho is the only god who can help stop it.

Dream-Hunter, Delphine, has spent her life protecting mankind from the nasty things that prey on our unconscious state. But now all the allies she had have been turned and she knows that Cractus is the last hope they have of finding a new leader who can fight against the enemy. However the enemy has got to Cractus first and if she can't win him over and get him to fight with her on her side, the side of Zeus, the whole world could be in big trouble.

While I absolutely adore the Dark-Hunter series there is something about the Dream-Hunter books that I don't like very much. I always read them, struggle through them, then actually look forward to the next on but they are just not as good as the Dark-Hunter series. I also find this series to be extremely complicated and confusing. Too many characters, histories and plots give me a headache and cause my mind to wander.

All in all a great read from a great author but it is a series I could do without. It has the usual flair and style that Kenyon is known for but it really isn't as satisfying as a Dark-Hunter book. A must read for fans but I don't think it is a must read as soon as possible series.

Faythe is on trial and the hearing isn't going very well. Accused of two of the three capital offenses recognized by the Pride, Faythe is pretty certain she is facing a death sentence. Nobody believes that she can partially shift and had no idea she had infected her human ex-boyfriend. Therefore nobody believes that when she murdered him, it was in self-defense and not to cover up her crime. Stuck in the mountains, not allowed to shift or go anywhere, Faythe is climbing the walls and could do with some action.

As things goes she gets exactly what she wanted. A rogue stray is wandering the mountainside and hunting humans. During the hunt to put a stop to the stray the Pride come by a wild teenage tabbycat. Young, scared and with no idea what has happened to her, Faythe is the only woman and person around for her to trust. Will she proof herself useful enough for the tribunual to keep her alive? Will she survive the stray's attacks?

Pride is the third book in the werecat series and there is no other werecat series out there worth reading except this one. If this was a movie I would have been on the edge of my seat the whole way through. From start to finish the book is filled with action, emotion and suspense. Faythe is an amazing character, Strong, sassy and realistic she is the kind of heroine you can not only relate with but would like to be yourself.

The whole series so far has been dark, clever and addictive and Pride just adds to those attributes. This is a must read series for any were or cat lover. This is one of my favourites and I can't wait till the release of book four, Prey, in July. Rachel Vincent is an amazing writer!

Life has settled down for Librarian Aurora Teagarden. Married life with Martin is going well and she hasn't found any dead bodies for a while. Then one afternoon her handyman goes crazy in her yard and she sees it as a sign of more bad things to come. She is right.

To say Roe is shocked to find Martin's niece Regina on her doorstep is the understatement of the year but to see her standing there with a new born baby is beyond comprehension. Then Regina disappears and leaves the baby behind as well as her dead husband. Left with the baby Roe and Martin go to Regina's hometown in snowy Ohio looking not only for the mother of the baby but also for answers about what exactly has happened over the last few months.

Book six in the Aurora Teagarden series gives the reader alot more information about her new life but also, by the end, takes alot away from it. Charlaine Harris is a wonderful author on many counts but the ending to this book made me wonder what she has planned for this prim, proper and old fashioned librarian. The series has been re-released, most likely due to Charlaine's vampire success, and I am glad that I managed to get hold of a copy of the next book in the series (due out in May) because I am very eager to see what Roe does next.

I am extremely happy that this series has been re-released because it just proves that Charlaine's Vampire success is no fluke. She writes a great story with amazing lead characters and any fan of her books should take the time to read this cozy mystery series as well as her Lily Bard series because you can always see a little Sookie in them.

Ariya is a fairy suffering from mysterious dreams about a dangerous but gorgeous man. Waking up from one of these dreams she finds her family under attack and she goes over to the mortal realm hoping for safety. On the run in a strange place she lands in more danger but is saved by the man from her dreams.

Jace Archane is a vampire who is known for killing the women he feeds from. Ariya is a problem he doesn't want to deal with but when the danger she is running from also seems to be threatening his world he knows they must work together. However from the first moment it is clear to see that the vampire and fairy have feelings for each other. Can they unite and fight against their common enemy? Can a fairy and a vampire really come together?

This is the first book in the Ashen Twilight series and it makes a good first impression. The reader is thrown into the history of the story straight away and then pulled back to the present and into a place where vampires, werewolves and other paranormal creatures are at work. With two strong lead characters, a nice plot and a good writing style this could turn into a fascinating series.

Although the author isn't new to the writing world this seems to be the first step she has made into the paranormal. I did enjoy this read but I have to admit that it was a little too romantic and history based for my liking. However on saying that the story did have a great Scottish tint to it and I really liked the over all concept.

Rae Lori is my guest tomorrow on Amberkatze's Book Blog so I am looking forward to getting to know her better!

Kitty and Ben are now the alpha pair of the Denver werewolf pack and are planning to tie the knot human style to make things official. Planning a wedding is something that the couple didn't see as being so complicated so they decide that eloping to Vegas would be a much easier solution. The idea of sipping drinks by the pool appeals to Kitty but once word gets out about her wedding plans she is talked into doing a live TV show version of her popular radio show. Not a newbie to multi-tasking, Kitty starts to look forward to the challenge.

Things start to look like they could get interesting when the bride and groom arrive in their hotel to find it is hosting a gun convention. With bounty hunters and silver bullets in the same building as a pair of werewolves there is bound to be some kind of trouble. Then Kitty meets the master vampire of Vegas and a very interesting magician and also comes across a strange animal act. With all these factors put together it isn't long before something snaps and Kitty finds herself fighting to save her wedding and her life.

Book five in the Kitty Norville series is as amazing as the previous four books. Kitty introduced me to the werewolf world and I have been following her ever since. I have been waiting for this fifth book for far too long and I am extremely happy that book six is due out next month! I love not having to wait!

If you haven't read any of the books in this series then you need to catch up. Kitty the werewolf is just a normal person who got bitten and is doing her best to survive. The author keeps things as real as possible when dealing with the paranormal world and the writing style makes the stories a joy to read.

With a cliffhanger ending you will be pre-ordering 'Kitty and Raises Hell' before you pick up any other book. This series is different to anything else out there and is a perfect example of great werewolf urban fantasy.
