Once a powerful Djinn, Cassiel defied her ruler, Ashan, who in return took her very essence away and sent her down to Earth in human flesh. As punishments go this is the worst and Cassiel finds herself forced to live among the mortals she has always despised. Luckily she has found refuge with the Weather Wardens which works out good for her because she needs their power or she will die.
Earning her keep assiting a Weather Warden called Manny Rocha is much easier than she thought it would be. With her human emotions to cope with and the way of human life, Cassiel finds herself pleased to be around him and his family. Then bad things start happening and Cassiel finds herself fighting against her old Djinn ways and a force that she thought she killed a long time ago.
This new series from Rachel Caine makes an amazing deubt in Undone. If you love the Weather Warden series and wondered about the Djinn then this is a treat. From a new perspective this series takes place in the Weather Warden world and actually runs alongside it. Familiar characters as well as new names make this a great mixture of new and old.
Full of emotions, twists and action this is fast paced, satisfying and will have you on the edge of your seat all the way. I think I may even like this more than the Weather Warden series itself but will hold out on my decision until more of the series has been released. Another Rachel Caine must buy to add to my list!
