Werewolves are showing up dead in Noturne City and not just any werewolves but ones from the oldest packs in the city. Luna Wilder is asked by a colleague to help out on the case even though she isn't a detective anymore. Stuck in the SWAT team is just where her bosses want her so they won't be too happy to find her working on any case. Another person not happy with Luna's involvement in the case is her boyfriend Dmitri. However Luna is the right person for the job even if it means she could be the next victim.

Luna tracks down the killings to a band of Wendigos who drink the blood of their victims for strength. Only believed to exist in legends, the Wendigos are the real deal and Luna finds herself seeking out some of the more friendly ones to ask for their help. So with all the help she can get Luna is off trying to find an invisible were-killer while fighting off everything the wendigo can throw at her.

I have really been enjoying the Nocturne series and was eagerly awaiting this third book. Full of action this is a hard read to put down. Read too fast and you might miss something. Take a break and you may loose the plot or forget some important information. Nothing is boring about this latest read but I have to say that I didn't think it was better than the first two books.

Luna is a some what stubborn and tough character but in this book she left me frustrated. Chasing a killer with werewolves, wendigos and other things that go bump in the night is never going to be easy but to see the main character get hurt so much was sad. Also her boyfriend Dmitri is not my favourite 'bad guy boyfriend' so their relationship problems seemed like a waste of paper for me.

Even though this wasn't my favourite of the series so far this series is still on my must read list. The ending of this book had an interesting new development that will have Luna busy for, hopefully, a few more books. Great plot, well written and paranormal at its best. Not to missed if you are following the series.

Fab review. I have the first two, thanks to a win. Now looking forward to adding the third to the set.
