When someone orders a black rose for Abby's old law school professor she knows she should let someone else deliver it. She never did get on with Professer Puffer and he prefers to throw broken pencils at students instead of helping them. So Abby isn't surprised when the professor throws the flower in the bin and is nasty to her. Storming off she only goes back to get the poor flower and at the same time finds a dead body. And if finding a dead body isn't bad enough the dead person just happens to be another professor that Abby doesn't get on well with.

Of course the police see Abby as the number one suspect and so does everyone else. Her flower shop does get more business but there are people protesting outside and following her. Abby is used to sticking her nose in to investigations and trying to help others get off the hook but this time she has to help herself.

This fourth book in the Flower Shop mysteries was just what I needed to welcome in the new year. I love this cozy mystery series and Abby is really a character that I am really enjoying. She is someone you wish was your best friend but at the same time you hope you don't get involved in any of her mad investigations!

With some romance between Abby and Marco, the sexy ex policeman, this series is also getting a little hot. The reoccurring characters and their story lines just make this series even more worth reading and I can't wait to join Abby on her next adventure. If you like Janet Evanovich then you will love Kate Collins!

Abby's cousin Jillian is finally getting married. The big day has arrived and even a few little bouts of cold feet or a fight are not going to get in the way of the couple saying 'I Do'. However the wedding reception is spoiled when a body is found and while Jillian is only concerned about missing her honeymoon, Abby is already starting up her own investigation.

Abby's assistant's new boyfriend is a suspect in the murder and so the heat is on to help her friend. Speaking to people she shouldn't, being places she has no reason to be and just asking too many questions has worked for Abby before. Will it work this time? Or will Abby get hurt in the process?

This is the third book in the Flower Shop mysteries and I am really enjoying these cozy mysteries. Not too difficult to follow with lovable characters this is Stephanie Plum with a normal job and less cars blowing up. The author manages to keep me guessing to the end and everything only becomes clear when it clicks for Abby. I am really looking forward to cuddling up with the next book in the series. This is something you can really read and relax with.

Abby Knight flunked out of Law school but now runs her own business. She is the proud owner of a flower shop and even though business isn't booming she has enough to get by. However special events like her cousins wedding is where she is making the money she needs and hopefully it will also get her some new customers. Then one of the wedding party is found dead and Abby gets to do what she does better than arranging flowers. She gets to snoop, asks questions and literally sleuth her way into danger. Again.

With the help of the hunky bar owner Marco, her flatmate Nikki and her employees at Bloomers, Abby is on the case. Not everyone is happy for her to be meddling again but deep down inside they all know that if anyone is going to find out who killed the victim then it will by her. Although Abby's attention isn't just on the murder. She has also set out to discredit a massage parlour. She is sure that the place is a front for something much more sinister and if she can get enough evidence to prove it she will.

This is the second book in the Flower Shop mysteries and I really like this cozy mystery with a floral theme. Abby is a great main character and the rest of the cast are interesting too. I can't wait to read book three and see how Abby's relationship with Marco evolves. I also can't wait to see what other trouble she manages to get herself into.

Fluffy and fun this mystery keeps you guessing till the end and doesn't give you a headache. With a great well though out plot this small town based series is a nice easy read and can be enjoyed by readers who like mysteries, romance and chicklit. Also so far I have to say that these books don't really need to be read in order to be understood.

Law school dropout Abby Knight has a keen green thumb and has taken over 'Bloomers' the flower shop. The proud new owner is busy drumming up business and looking at new ways to make more than just her flowers grow. She never meddles and can't stand to see someone wronged, even if that person is already dead.

Things aren't going as sweetly as Abby thought things would. Someone just rammed her car and when she realises it could be the murderer everyone is looking for she wants to help caught him as much as possible. Luckily she has hunky ex-cop Marco to help her, if he ever picks up his phone when she needs him. However Abby is helping a bit too much and if she isn't careful she could find her last flower arrangement will be one for her own funeral.

I love a little break from the paranormal and cozy mysteries always appeal to me. I have been collecting the Flower Shop Mystery books for a while now and finally decided I should start them. This first part in the series, Mum's the Word, really impressed me and I am really happy that I already have the next few books in the series already here on my bookshelf to pick up when I please.

Kate is a more independent Stephanine Plum with the same style and nosey ways. For a debut this was a great start and the plot had me guessing right till the end. A great mystery with some laugh out loud moments I know I will be reading the next book 'Slay It with Flowers' sooner rather than later.
