I promised a new contest but I haven't been too well this week and didn't get around to posting one. So better late than never here is the new contest!
What is up for grabs?
The new anthology '
Weddings from Hell' (see my review below) with stories by Maggie Shayne, Jeaniene Frost, Terri Garey & Kathryn Smith.
EDIT -
Thanks for offering my book as your prize, Amberkatze! Great idea for a contest! I can't enter, but four authors I'd like to read an anthology by would be Anne Rice, Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Joyce Carol Oates. I think I'd have a hard time putting that one down!
By the way, let me sweeten the pot on your contest by offering an autographed bookmark to go with the book - let me know who the winner is, and the bookmark will be in the mail!
Terri Garey
Many thanks Terri!!! The signed bookmark is a great addition to the book prize!
How to enter!
Post a comment on this thread telling me what 4 authors you would love to see getting together to make an anthology! Who knows! They may pop by and get some ideas from us ;)
You can enter until Friday the 13th! Yes the day of being unlucky will be lucky for someone! and if you don't name 4 authors I will not put your name in the draw!
So enter away and tell your friends ;)

Thanks again Amberkatze, and thank you too Terri!
There are so many to choose really!
How about Jim Butcher, Anne Bishop, Laurell K Hamilton and Carrie Vaughn!
Please count me in, this one sounds like a fun one!

Well this is easy! My favorite four authors are all in the same genre anyway: Laurell K. Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong, and Charlaine Harris. You can’t tell me that’s not an anthology that you wouldn’t snatch up (and if I could put in one more it would be Patricia Briggs)!
At 7 June 2008 at 07:42,
No offence to the authors in this anthology,(I love them all as writers), but they've already been put together in this book, so I'll pick four other authors. :)
Hmmm...Laurell K. Hamilton, Adrian Phoenix, JF Lewis and Mark Henry all writing stories for an anthology would be really cool!
Hope you're feeling better Amber. :) *Hugs*

Love this idea for a contest. My authors would be Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, Colleen Gleason and Jackie Kessler. This would be my dream anthology! Thanks for the opportunity.

OOoh, I have been wanting to read this book so bad. Please toss my name in the hat!!
I think I'd like to see Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Peter Straub, and Richard Laymon do anthology.
Or for a lighter mood anthology...
Kristin Hannah, Nicholas Sparks, Barbara Delinsky, and Sarah Strohmeyer.
Cheers,
Rebekah (aka littleminx @ bookcrossing)

I would love to have an anthology with Jackie Kessler, Richelle Mead, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Kresley Cole. I hope you are feeling Amber!

Cute contest, blame Terri for sending me here. I hope I can vote for something not paranormal. I am a regency romance fan. I would love to read Georgette Heyer, Barbara Metzger, Carla Kelly and Mary Balogh together.

Oh wow! Who'd I choose?
Let's see... Shannon Hale, Justine Larbalestier, Vivian Vande Velde and Maria V. Snyder :)

I want to read this anthology so much. I've read HC's other 'Hell' anthologies but haven't seen this one at the bokstore.
My team up would be Vicki Pettersson, Neil Gaiman, Perry Moore, and Jonathon Lethem. They're disparate authors but I think they could do a cool comic-inspired anthology.

I'll keep entering your awesome contests 'til I win one **lol** This anthology looks like fun, so I'd love to win it. Mind you, for authors writing in anthologies, I don't know enough of the PUF type people to pick a good mix. I think it would be wonderful to read a collection of short stories by Amy Tan, Anchee Min, Lisa See, and Ha Jin, if any of them were interested in writing short stories. PUFishly, I know that Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman work really well together (and Neil is well versed in the short story genre), and Diana Wynn Jones's style should blend in reasonably well, but for a fourth name to toss into the mix...? Oooh! Someone I haven't seen much from for a while: Brian Froud!

Oi, Amber, sorry. I keep forgetting that when I comment it says I'm "Dorraine" not "GateGypsy" ahahaha.
At 8 June 2008 at 09:41,
I would really love to read this anthology!
Hmm I would have to say Lara Adrian, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Keri Authur and J.R. Ward.
Definately count me in this one too!
Thanks,
Terri W.

Since I read a large variety of genres, mine will be very mixed! LOL
I'd like to see Jenna Black, Janet Evanovich, Allison Brennan, and Jackie Kessler all together in one book!! :)
At 8 June 2008 at 12:53,
Fun Question!
How about Minda Webber, J.R. Ward, Richelle Mead & Susan Grant!

Hi Amber,
Thanks for another great contest! I would like to see Charlaine Harris, Janet Evanovich, Shannon McKenna, and Kresley Cole write an anthology. That would be one fun read!

On my screen your blog is really really really hard to read. Not enough contrast.
But I like the contest and can't resist entering.
I am from Sweden and I might pick ones that are unknown to you, I hope that is OK. I really like some of the ideas above, Dean Koontz is a real favourite. And I like Rebekah's idea for a lighter anthology.
My choice:
Åsa Nilsonne, Barbara Voors, Katerina Janouch, Kajsa Ingemarsson

I might as well throw my hat in!
I would like to see Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Haruki Murakami, Neil Gaiman and Jostein Gaarder to get together to create an anthology.

This is really hard.
For mysteries I think I would like to see Janet Evanovich, Joan Hess, Charlaine Harris and G. A. McKevett.
For something paranormal I'd like to see Yasmine Galenhorn, Raven Hart Ilona Andrews and J.R. Ward
Thank you, Amber and Terri!

(It's not Friday here yet -- does that count? :D )
Oooh, narrowing it down to four authors is tough, 'cos I can think of way more than just four!....
Anne Bishop, because I'll never get enough!
Kelley Armstrong and Lois McMaster Bujold for the same reason!
And Charlaine Harris because she tells darn good stories, at any length!
