Lucy is just like any other high school student. She worries about grades, how she looks and if her boyfriend really does like her. Living in a house that looks like the Munsters home and a father who never leaves said house has the kids labelling her as 'weird'. Although things get just damn strange when she turns sixteen. Her dad gives her a diary and starts telling her a story about vampires. Apparently they are real she is in danger. Like school isn't hard enough...now she has bloodsucking vamps to deal with!

Bram Stoker's story about Dracula slowly becomes more real for Lucy as she realises that her friends, boyfriend and other people in her life are all relatives of the famous author or vampire. Suddenly Lucy is using garlic perfume and trying to stay alive instead of getting excited about homecoming and makeovers. How will she manage to fight all the vampires who are living in her town?

High School Bites is full of historical details about Bram Stoker this story made for interesting reading. Very Fun and fascinating this was a fast put enjoyable read. I really liked Lucy and her friends and read this in one sitting. I get the impression that this was a one off and not part of a series but I really hope that the author will write more about Lucy. This was a great young adult book and I would certainly like to read more.

You may also know this author as writer Erica Orloff.
