Maggie O’Neill's mother manages to guilt her into looking after her pregnant sister. Mel who is supposed to have complete bed rest isn't an easy patient to look after. However the strange spirits in Mel's house are of more concern to Maggie and she is especially weary because her two nieces seem to be able to see and talk to some of them. How can Mel's almost new house be haunted?
Of course trouble never comes alone because then a friend of Mel's loses her husband in a fall. The police are sure it was accidental but Maggie's intuition is saying otherwise and so in true Maggie style she sets out to find out as much as she can from her boyfriend and detective, Tom. Meanwhile Maggie gets a new pet to keep her company while Tom is busy working all hours. Will Maggie lose interest in the crime fighting Tom and fall into the arms of the magical Marcus?
No Rest for the Wiccan is the fourth book in the Bewitching Series and it was a satisfying, mysterious and magical read. I always love a mix of cozy mystery and paranormal and Madelyn Alt does the job just as well as Shirley Damsgaard and Victoria Laurie. With a lovely leading lady who you can relate to this series has the characters and plot to perk your interest the whole way through.
I have been following this series since the first book The Trouble With Magic came out over two years ago and I have enjoyed getting to know Maggie, her boss, her friends, her family and the sleepy town she lives in. It is always a joy to catch up with this series and I can't wait for the next book when it comes around.
So if you love a little mystery, some paranormal and like to cuddle up with it and not hide under the covers then I can highly recommend this spellbinding series.
A huge thank you to Madelyn for letting me read this ARC edition. No Rest for the Wiccan is due for release on the 4th of November.
