The Guardians of the Night do not kill for blood but Drake needs human blood. He only feeds from victims who deserve to die but it still makes him bad in the eyes of his fellow Guardians. Enough is enough and Drake finds himself moving to Baltimore. When Gabriel the leader of the Guardians there disappears, Drake is suddenly in charge and they have guests.

The guests are a delegation of European vampires looking for Gabriel. Faith is part of the leaders concubine and she needs help for her human sister and herself. Drake is pulled into the whole situation and he soon finds he has feelings for Faith. He also has to deal with his past to help come out of the situation alive.

This is the 4th part in the 'Guardians of the Night' series and it was a pleasure to finally read Drake's story. He has always been that mysterious, strong and dangerous man in the background and this book shows him to be much more caring and lovable.

The storyline was strong in this one and it carried on from the other books nicely. However I can see this also being read and understood without reading the previous books. The characters are as always interesting and intriguing with no qualms as to who the good and the bad guys are.

I really like this author and love this series. However I have to say that this book seemed a little bland compared to the 1st 'Morgan Kingsley' book, 'The Devil Inside'. I am really looking forward to the 2nd book 'The Devil You Know' (which I would love to review hint hint) and of course anymore 'Guardians of the Night' Novels. Keep up the great work Jenna and I will keep reading ;)

This sounds a little familiar but there aren’t too many original vampire-ish series anymore. I just picked up the latest book in Charlaine Harris’ Sookie series. Can’t wait to find a whole day to sit and read it!

I've read the previous books, but haven't gotten to this one yet! I'll have to put it on my list to pick up sometime. :)
