This is the 7th part in the 'Saga of Darren Shan' and the story is just getting better and better. Darren is growing up in more ways than one and is getting to be quite a mature and level headed lad!

This book is set 6 years after 'The Vampire Prince'. Darren has been in vampire mountain the whole time and helping with the on going war against the vampaneze. When the offer arises to leave the mountain and actually go and fight he jumps at the chance despite his mixed feelings about going back outside again.

His trip takes him to a witch with a strange story and he also meets another Vampire prince. The story sees him going back to Cirque Du Freak and catching up with some old friends. All in all this book is filled with action and suspense. I can't wait to see what happens next!
