Darren Shan is a Vampire Prince who has been on a life or death mission. In this 9th book in the series, Darren tried to save his old friend Debbie while another old friend Steve is making trouble for Darren and his vampire friends. They are going against the Vampaneze and they are playing dirty.
Killers of the Dawn
wasn't as great as the previous books and I got a little dizzy reading this one. Lots of moving around and so many characters made it hard to keep track of everything that was going on and where everyone was. Towards the end I had the feeling that nothing much had happened in this book and then something happened that I wasn't expecting.
With a great ending that leaves me wanting more I am glad there are 3 more books in the series and I will be visiting Darren again soon to find out what happens next. This is a great young adult series that adults will enjoy and the film covering the first 3 books which will be called
Cirque du Freak is due out early next year.

Hi Amber...I've always thought that it's so bizarre that the character has the author's name, but I've never gotten around to reading them. How many are there in the series?

It is bizarre but it is a fun series!
There are 12 books in the series but they are all young adult size books...about 150 pages.

Oh and you can get them in trilogy sets which I think works out cheaper...
